Placing Kids in School

Over the years AJ Hope Foundation has sponsored some young adults to the basic, senior high school, and tertiary levels. Many rural communities do not boast of schools and those that do still have the challenge of getting kids into school. From financial constraints to mere unavailability of sanitary towels, reasons for children staying out of school abound in remote communities all over the world.

AJ HOPE FOUNDATION is working at getting and keeping children in school.

what we do

Skills Training

For children and people who for one reason or the other cannot be enrolled in formal education, or prefer to learn a trade or skill, we enrol them in a skills training program so they can also add value to their lives.

We currently work with the Mephiboseth Training Centre (Appam Junction, Ghana), Augmag Wells which provides their farms for training, as well as other centres and individuals to achieve this goal.

Our vision is to complete our skills training centre in Koforidua (Ghana, West Africa) to promote a sustainable business model for the foundation while empowering people to become self reliant.

what we do

Eradicating Teenage Pregnancy

Poverty and single parenthood is a major contributing factor to teenage pregnancy in the rural communities we work with.

At AJ Hope Foundation, we educate, support and train poor parents and young ladies, empowering them to be able to provide for themselves and their families, so they do not rely on people who take advantage of them to provide for their basic needs.

We also assist in handing people over to the various authorities, in situations where that is necessary.

what we do

Empowering widows

In certain parts of Ghana, there has been some stigma attached to the loss of one’s spouse.  Homes have been set up for widows, separating them from the community. This separation perpetuates certain negative stereotypes making members of the community treat widows as cursed outcasts.

In some communities, misfortunes such as continuous miscarriages and chronic illness cause painful stigma, maltreatment and ostracisation of victims.

AJ HOPE FOUNDATION seeks to empower these people through skilled training to acquire jobs, counselling and many more. Our greatest desire is that these affected individuals become self-sufficient as poverty puts them at the mercy of the powers that be.

what we do

Supporting the elderly

To curb the menace of ignoring the elderly and their needs, AJ Hope foundation’s periodic health screening brings health professionals closer to elderly members of communities who would otherwise not be able to afford medical care.

These checkups come with some free medication and professional advice to ensure that the vulnerable members of our community do not feel neglected and die of curable and easily detectable illnesses.

At AJ Hope Foundation, we believe that growing old should not be characterised by a loss of dignity.

what we do

Enriching communities

Coupled with some other institutions, AJ Hope Foundation brings relief to affected young adults by giving them some personal effect items, prescribed relief drugs and relief items like foodstuffs, and toiletries.

We partner with the leadership of orphanage homes to bring our young adults under one umbrella intermittently to teach them life and leadership skills. These include decision making, personal hygiene, DIY hacks, personal development etc.

We establish programmes to train widowers and widowers in skills that will earn them a living and make them self sufficient.

AJ Hope Foundation also raises funds and initiates community-wide projects like the drilling of boreholes, renovations of schools and establishment of community centres for the benefit of several communities.
